Founded in 2016 by Begoña Villalobos, who continues to serve as Editor-in-Chief, In&OutJAZZ is an independent international publication dedicated to contemporary and improvised music.

Over the years, the magazine has grown into a dynamic editorial community bringing together writers, musicians, artists and dedicated listeners from different countries and musical backgrounds. Our work explores improvised music, avant-garde and free jazz, experimental and contemporary music, with a particular focus on artists and projects distinguished by originality, artistic risk and a distinctive creative voice.

We believe that music deserves not only to be heard, but also to be explored, questioned and understood within its wider artistic and cultural context. Our editorial approach is guided by intellectual rigor, artistic independence and freedom of thought, combining critical analysis with a genuine curiosity for new ideas, sounds and forms of expression.

From established figures to emerging voices, we document the artists, projects and scenes shaping the present and future of contemporary music.

Thanks to our international network of artists, record labels, promoters and collaborators, In&OutJAZZ receives a large number of albums and releases from around the world throughout the year.

We listen to and consider as many submissions as possible. However, due to the volume of music we receive, we are not able to review every release.

Our editorial selection is based on artistic quality, originality, creative approach and its connection with the editorial vision of In&OutJAZZ. We only publish reviews of music that genuinely engages our editorial team and that we believe is relevant to our readers.

If your album is not reviewed, this does not necessarily mean that we have not listened to it. It may be because:

• We have not yet had the opportunity to listen to it.
• It falls outside our current editorial focus.
• We have selected other releases for publication at that particular time.
• Our editorial schedule does not allow us to cover every submission.
